Ignition module overhaul by Carmo Electronics; the solution to the vibration of my Rotax? - S03 E03

In the previous episodes you saw me do work on the carburetors and high voltage side of the ignition system of my airplane engine. Despite my efforts to solve the vibration at low idle, I wasn't able to. In this attempt, I focused on the low voltage side of things. See full description...

The work I previously did on my Rotax 912 ULS engine, in an attempt to solve the vibration, is the following;

Replaced all the spark plugs
Reinstalled the spark plug caps
Overhaul of both carburetors (ultrasonic cleaned and parts replaced)
Replaced the intake manifold rubbers
Replaced the carburetor drip trays
Replaced both air filters
Replaced all the fuel lines
Synchronized both carburetors

Since that didn't solve the problem, I turned my focus on the low voltage side of the ignition system; the ignition modules of the Rotax 912 ULS, situated at the top side of the engine.

After digging through a bunch of websites, I came across a company that analyzes, repairs and upgrades these ignition modules. And take a guess: it's a Dutch company! Of all the companies in the world, it turned out to be one in my 'backyard'... :)

This company is Carmo Electronics, which is specialized in electronics for ignition- and injection systems for all sorts of combustion engines. They were able to have a look at my ignition modules and worked their magic! Take a look at the video about what and how they did it.
