The 6-series electric typewriters by Smith-Corona were one of the most common electric typewriters and served as a more affordable alternative to the IBM Selectrics that were beginning to dominate the market in the 1960s.

Amongst them are these two models, the Electra 220 and Coronet Automatic 12, both with the automatic carriage return and featuring 12 inch platens. In this video we will compare their differences and make a surprise speed test against the IBM Selectric 721.
