Public Presentation at Camp Crame: On the morning of January 22, Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla officially presented Siim Roosipuu to the media at Camp Crame following his arrest in Negros Oriental on January 15.
Legal Charges: Beyond deportation, Remulla announced that Roosipuu will face criminal charges in a Philippine trial court for violating the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
Overstaying Status: It was revealed during the press conference that Roosipuu has been overstaying his visa in the Philippines for several weeks; his last valid extension expired on January 1, 2026.
Specific Allegations: Authorities cited specific offensive content where Roosipuu reportedly referred to Filipinos as having "monkey faces" and made monkey sounds, alongside ongoing complaints of harassing minors and filming locals without consent.
Government Warning: Secretary Remulla used the presentation to issue a stern warning to foreign tourists, stating that while the Philippines is hospitable, it is not a "content playground" for those who mock or exploit locals.
Deportation and Blacklisting: Upon the conclusion of legal proceedings, Roosipuu is set to be deported and permanently blacklisted from the Philippines. He is currently being held at the Bureau of Immigration (BI) detention facility.
