Book Review: Frost

GENRE: Fantasy Romance
TROPES: Forbidden love, Marriage contest, Revenge (to an ex), Enemies to lovers, Save the world
PROS:
👑The characters (main and side) were very believable and I want to be their friends.
👑The skills needed by Ava in the contest were ones that she realistically could have learned so that was nice.
👑The writing was simple making it a nice fast read that I really enjoyed.


CONS:
🗡I predicted the twists and surprises, which while not unusual is always a little disappointing.
🗡Almost all the POV was Ava with a few Torin thrown in. I would have liked more from him.
🗡The MMC is named Torin and b/c my fantasy world is Torian I could not read his name right, but this one is all me.


Ava’s entire life comes crashing around her when she finds her boyfriend in bed with someone else on her birthday. After a nasty run in with the Seelie king she enters into a contract with him to compete in the traditional contest to pick a new queen.

In this world the Fae are like celebrities for the humans, where they are completely obsessed with knowing more about them, and so there will be live TV coverage of this events.

Despite being Fae Ava was raised by humans and with no living family left, her roommate and BFF head to the Fae lands to compete, where they both learn the fae are far more ruthless than they imagined. Danger, intrigue and lots of close bonding happen while Ava tries to stay alive long enough to get her promised prize.
