How to fix Epson ET 8550 Error Code 031002 (Printhead FFC Cable Replacement)

In this video, I show you step-by-step how I fixed Error Code 031002 on my Epson ET-8550 by replacing the printhead FFC cables and servicing the dampers. If your ET-8550 suddenly stops printing and throws Error 031002, this tutorial walks you through the exact repair that solved my issue.

To fix the error, I had to fully disassemble the printer, including:
✔ Removing both side panels
✔ Removing the front panel
✔ Removing the old FFC cables
✔ Installing brand-new FFC cables
✔ Removing all the dampers
✔ Cleaning the dampers
✔ Reinstalling and re-priming the dampers
✔ Running a test print to confirm the error was gone

After installing the new FFC cables, Error 031002 disappeared completely, and the printer worked perfectly again.
