Who’s the top contender in the battle of the best two-ingredient protein bagel? Are you team cottage cheese or team yogurt? Is there really any difference?
Whichever one you choose, making it a pretzel bagel will take it to the next level. Rep your favorite protein in the comments!
Recipe:
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 cup cottage cheese (or yogurt)
2 tbsp neutral oil (optional)
Toppings of choice
Mix all ingredients together until dough forms
Knead on a floured board for 7-10 minutes until smooth & firm
Cut into 4 pieces for average size or 2 pieces for mega size bagels
Boil in baking soda bath for 20-30 seconds using at least 1/3 cup for 4-5 cups of water (the more baking soda the darker the bagels; don’t over do it!)
Coat with egg wash, then use desired toppings
Bake at 420 for 18-20 minutes
