*TRIP REPORT* Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200 | Economy N676DL | Miami - Atlanta | WINGLETLESS 757!!

A full Trip Report onboard the Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200 from Miami to Atlanta!

This flight was the beginning of my return to CLT and 3rd out of 4 total flights I took during my trip to Miami, Florida from June 18-20 2024! The whole purpose of this trip I took was to fly the Boeing 757, planespot at one of my bucket list airports, and practice my photography/ videography!

Throughout my 2 nights at MIA, I stayed at the Miami International Airport Hotel located directly as part of the airport! The lobby of the hotel connects inside Terminal E and offers airport views, close proximity to the parking decks, and has a restaurant on the top floor! My stay at the hotel was certainly a 5 Star experience for clean rooms, convenience, airport views, pricing, food, and amazing staff! I highly recommend staying at the Miami International Airport Hotel if you’re ever at MIA overnight or even for a few days!

This flight on the 757 was made even more special as it was a chance for me to fly the “wingletless” 757-200! Not many of these types remain as a large majority of the fleet have been retrofitted with winglets and usually older 757s like N676DL never were since their retirement will be closer than others in the fleet.

Unfortunately there were several things during this trip report I wasn’t able to do such as getting a shot of the plane during boarding, a tour of the cockpit, and deplaning. Flying the 757s are truly an amazing experience to fly on the Sports Car of commercial aircraft!
The Boeing 757 is recognized for its extreme power for a relatively small aircraft compared to larger wide bodies, and its efficiency to replace older jets such as the 727.

Delta Airlines is the largest operator for the type and now 1 of just 2 US airlines that use still the 757 for passenger service (the other being United) and 1 of just several others around the world that still operate the 757 for passenger service. The Boeing 757 is still largely operated around the world but most are for cargo use.

The Boeing 757 is one of my favorite commercial aircraft and I wanted to make sure to fly on one before they start phasing out! Fortunately, Delta has no plans to retire the 757s and are set to operate them beyond 2030! But most of the older 757s will be retired (such as winglet-less versions) and leave the newer aircraft in service.

No matter what I would still highly suggest booking a flight on these classic aircraft when you still have the chance! Flying the Boeing 757 is an experience no other aircraft can replicate or replace!
