Quick comparison of the different Mesa Boogie Rectifier models in the Fractal Audio Axe Fx II. In a recent firmware update Cliff added the 2-Channel rectifier under the name Recto1. I decided to compare the Red Modern versions of these amps. I have an amp block set up with X as Recto1 Red Modern and Y as Recto2 Red Modern. I copied settings X to Y and changed the amp, that way both amps are at the same settings and all the advanced parameters are default values.
To me the Recto1 sounds fuller and tighter in the midrange as well as much tighter in the low frequencies, but still having that spongy feel the Rectifier is known for. The Recto2 sounds more scooped and more sharp in the high frequencies. If I was going for a great recto tone I would prefer the 2-Channel.
In the last bit I have both amps panned hard to either side. Use headphones to hear differences better.
Let me know what you guys think in the comments
