HOn3 Barlow Pass Layout | Benchwork, Roadbed and Grades

This time on the HOn3 Barlow Pass project, I build a sturdy box frame for the layout, then demonstrate how I enlarge my track plan to the plywood sub-roadbed. Then it's time to cut everything out and install risers for the elevation changes and vertical separation needed to realistically depict high country narrow gauge railroading.
Barlow Pass is my little slice of 1930's Colorado narrow gauge in a roughly 4x8' corner of the studio.
