This interview was shot in 2002 on location at the Hollywood Collector's Show for the cult Manhattan cable access show Media Funhouse. Mr. Berman was generous with his time and offered ready answers to my questions about his life and career and also went into "character" at various points to needle me. I was proud to be his straight man -- in case I wasn't sure he was kidding (I was), after the interview finished he assured me he been joking and liked my questions. He was a legendary, trend-setting standup comic but was also just a very nice guy who possessed a sharp mind and a keen sense of dark humor (although he did rejected the label of "sick humor" given to him, Lenny Bruce, and Mort Sahl back in the Fifties).
