Paper Mario Dark Star Edition: Fuzzipede Fight with CantWin File Code, Triple Curse (9x)

This is just not Fuzzipede's game, or day...

CantWin is a File Code in Dark Star Edition that sets you to level 27, gives you all 128 badges, and the 5 unlockable stones immediately (all but Greed, Badge, and Rainbow). However, in return, it forces all encounters to be at least 4.5x difficulty, the equivalent of Super + Mega Curse. Equipping Curse badges does NOT stack with this multiplier, but if you equip Ultra + Mega Curse or all 3 Curses, you will do a fight on that respective difficulty instead of the innate 4.5x difficulty that CantWin forces.

Fuzzipede has 40 Base HP, scaling up to 360 on 9x, and has 0 Defense. His normal Jump and Charge attacks that he uses have a base attack value of 5 (45). His new move Dig has a base attack value of 3 (27), and it takes 1 turn to prep before he uses it. During that time, he's unable to be hit by any attacks. His charge attack takes away a random battle command if we fail to block. We also can't attack Fuzzipede unless Watt is the active partner.

In addition, being inside the whale deals damage to Mario every round in this fight. The damage is 4 initially, but once Fuzzipede falls below 50% HP, that damage becomes 8. However, this damage will never bring Mario's HP to 0.

To note, I'm very sure that you could completely decimate Fuzzipede in a CantWin run simply by using Mega Bounce, or potentially even just Power Bounce by itself. When he's under 50% HP, Fuzzipede essentially only uses Dig and nothing else. This means that he pretty much becomes a non-factor since you can heal up on the turn he's invulnerable, dodging the attack with Outta Sight. Then you use Quick Change to switch back to Watt and attack with Power Bounce and repeat. But while that would definitely work, that's also kind of lame in my opinion.

As such, the strategy used here is very reminiscent to the strategy used when beating Fuzzipede on 9x in a Standard Curse file. As such, Power Bounce and Thunder Throw are once again the attacks of choice. Power Bounce for its higher damage, and Thunder Throw when Fuzzipede is hanging from the ceiling. Double Dip allows me to use a Deluxe Feast and a Super Shroom Cake in the same turn, and Quick Change is used so I can switch to Bow when needed. Crazy Heart is used so I can offset the damage taken from being in this fight as well as against Fuzzipede. It's meant to make it such that I only barely survive. 1 Defend Plus and 1 Damage Dodge are used so I can just barely survive Fuzzipede's attack when not at full HP for Perfect Stand. Power Plus is used to get a +1 attack that I previously used All or Nothing for since I hadn't fought Anti Guy at that time. Pity Flower is used again so that I don't run out of FP. In fact, the only real change I made from my Standard Curse badge build to this one was swapping out the Standard Curse's Power Rush in exchange for Mega Rush. This was to get more damage while Fuzzipede is paralyzed from Watt's Power Shock (which works twice here).

The item build is the exact same from back then as well; 10 Deluxe Feats and 10 Super Shroom Cakes. These are always used together via Double Dip as mentioned. Note that the damage of being in this fight happens before Cake Regen takes place; not after.

How do you make renewable Deluxe Feasts in a Pre-Chapter 5 state? The process is as follows:
Use Mysteries (buyable from Boo's Shop) to cook Life Shrooms. Note that in Dark Star Edition, Mysteries are the only way you can cook Life Shrooms.
Use Mysteries to also cook Potato Salads.
Buy regular Mushrooms from Toad Town's northern shop, located under the Dojo.
Cook the Life Shrooms with the regular Mushrooms to get Shroom Steaks.
Cook the Shroom Steaks with the Potato Salads to get Deluxe Feasts.

If you have any Whacka Bumps, you can also cook those with Strange Leaves to get Deluxe Feasts as well. But note that Whacka Bumps are limited in quantity unless you can repeatedly defeat Tutankoopa EX. In the case of a CantWin file, this is much harder when not relying on the Mega Bounce Exploit.

You can also cook Shroom Steaks by cooking Ultra Shrooms by themselves. However, prior to Chapter 8, those are only renewable by repeatedly reaching Floor 80 of the Pit of 100 Trials. And needless to say, if you can get renewable Ultra Shrooms, you'd be generally better off by simply making Jelly Ultras instead (since Jammin' Jellies are renewable by reaching Floor 70). But again; this is a CantWin file, so every fight has to be done on 4.5x difficulty at minimum.
