#Animal #manure takes much longer to break down, and there are many safety precautions to follow in order to prevent contamination of #fruits and #vegetables. Pathogens cause serious foodborne illnesses. Ammonia, bacteria, fungus and parasites all spoil the #environment.

#Nettles and #Comfrey contain high levels of NPK: nitrogen, phosphorous and potash. These are three of the most important #nutrients required by plants. NPK supports the most essential functions of plants, protecting them and promoting their growth.

Macronutrients are the fats, proteins and carbohydrates that plants need in larger quantities for energy and to function properly. Micronutrients are vitamins and minerals needed by the body in very small amounts. Both types are vital to life.

These plants have #taproots, which serve to store food reserves, making them even more self-sufficient and resilient. And Comfrey plants generally do not have any serious issues with #pests or #diseases. #Taproots mine deep for more nutrients, and you'll get fewer problems with #natural fertilizers from your #garden.

Stinging nettle manure is highly regarded as a mild plant protector and biological fertilizer. These plants contain many minerals, flavonoids, essential amino acids, proteins, and vitamins.

Stinging Nettles make a natural fertilizer for #tomatoes, by releasing #nitrogen, #phosphate and #potassium, plus trace elements. You'll need to check how your own plants will benefit from various amounts of #NPK, but my fertilizers produce first class #brassicas and #salads. Follow the recipe so that your fertilizer isn't too powerful.

These #organic #fertilizers don't take very long to make. Adding aged human pee helps, but isn't essential. #Nitrogen content is valuable to plants because they need it to synthesize amino acids, enzymes, proteins and chlorophyll. If you don't fancy smelly pee, just leave it out with no worries.

Make sure your plants are not poisonous if you're going to consume them or make fertilizers out of them. Never rely on one source for plant identification, and never eat anything unless you are 100% sure it is edible. You can find wild stinging nettles and transplant them into your garden, or grow them from seed.

Check what is right for your individual plants, but I also swear by the dark liquids from my garden-waste composters. Natural #organic fertilizers are better for soil and environmental #sustainability, as well as for human #health. They reduce environmental hazards, support #wildlife, lower the risks of toxic foods, and enhance soil with natural #nutrients.
