Ferrari 550 Maranello Prodrive at Imola Classic - incredible V12 sound

Watch Emmanuel Collard pilot the championship-winning Ferrari 550 Maranello Prodrive at the Imola Classic, a historic motorsport event organised by Peter Auto at the legendary Italian circuit.

This particular Ferrari 550 Maranello competed in the FIA GT Championship with BMS Scuderia Italia during the early 2000s, securing the 2003 FIA GT Driver's Title with Biagi and Bobbi at the wheel. The car has been preserved and prepared for historic racing by JMB Classic, who maintain this significant piece of GT racing history.

Modified by Prodrive, the Ferrari 550 features a naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V12 engine paired with a sequential gearbox that requires heel-and-toe technique for downshifts, showcasing the demanding nature of these early 2000s GT1 machines.

Le Mans veteran Emmanuel Collard, with 25 starts at La Sarthe to his name, returned to drive the same chassis that won the 2003 championship. Competing in the Endurance Racing Legends 1 category against GT1 competitors including Maserati MC12s and Aston Martin DBR9s, plus LMP1 prototypes such as the Zytek 04S and MG EX257, Collard demonstrated the Ferrari's continued competitiveness.

Qualifying saw Collard claim GT1 pole position and 4th overall at the former Formula 1 circuit. Race 1 delivered a P3 class finish, while Race 2 saw the Ferrari take the GT1 class victory, proving this 22-year-old championship car remains competitive at the front of the historic GT1 field.
