Learn how to propagate native plants with URI Master Gardeners and the Providence Seed Library at this free virtual workshop!
Join URI Master Gardener Dave Vissoe for a virtual talk about native plants and how to propagate them! Dave is the Project Leader of the Kettle Pond Garden at the US Fish and Wildlife Kettle Pond Visitor Center, which is composed entirely of locally sourced native plants. He will offer a virtual tour of the garden and discuss native plant propagation techniques such as winter sowing.
Fatema Maswood will also share information about the The Providence Seed Library. The Providence Seed Library is a living collection of open-pollinated, heirloom and culturally resonant seeds sustained by new and experienced gardeners, and housed at participating Providence Community Library locations (Knight Memorial, Mount Pleasant, Rochambeau and Washington Park).
