Although this one and its predecessor are mostly not remembered (and in some cases not even related to Ace Combat as a whole), AC22 still helped to pave the way to what the brand would be in the future. But here, diverging from the complex, deep and dramatic plots of recent titles, as per 90's arcade tradition, no signs of anything like that in AC22. It's your cliché, good old, predictable "save-the-world-from-something-else" formula that games from this era insisted on repeating 'till exhaust.

The drill? Pretty simple: Pick a mission type, then a jet (you got three -- a Tomcat, a Sukhoi and a Raptor) and shake 'em off. Ah, and prepare to have lots of missiles on your tail as you roll, dive and loop to evade them, or at least try to.

Since I'm playing the japanese version, I can't understand what mission types are. I just pick anything else. I use the Tomcat in this play, which in turn is my all-time favorite jet fighter ever :-)
