Half a camera, Ricoh GR IV, and more 📷📰 Photo Video News Q2 2025

Another roundup of dedicated camera announcements and releases! I'm not too excited by this list besides the Ricoh GR IV, but even then it's more of a side-grade than an upgrade. What's your opinion on the cameras I cover here?

I'd have to disagree about heat being the main reason for no official weather resistance, but Ricoh hasn't been able or interested so it's a possible factor. Besides cameras like the Lumix S5ii and Sony FX30 which have weather resistance while still having openings for fans, there are various actual waterproof cameras that exist, which would require much more stringent sealing than an IP rated WR camera. The closest I can think of is the Nikon AW1 which was pretty compact but it did have a 1" type sensor instead of APS-C. Then there are a bunch of 1/2.3" sensor waterproof cameras that manage to work in addition to action cameras. I don't know if extra heat from an APS-C sensor would cause it to be impossible to simply give the camera a rating of "splashproof" WR.
