A news report from Jim Tatti of Sportsline regarding the upcoming groundbreaking of the Air Canada Centre.
It's easy to forget that originally the ACC was going to be facility strictly for the Raptors. They had been playing at the SkyDome previously. Hard to imagine now. This was prior to the creation of MLSE and the Leafs/Raptors joint ownership.
The Leafs at the time were investigating building their own arena. The idea of two separate arenas seems crazy so the joint partnership was inevitable.
Funny to hear that the Leafs didn't believe the location wasn't suitable for them. Hard to imagine why since you can practically take both TTC and GoTransit directly to your seat.
