Step by Step Portrait Construction

Learn the four essential steps to pose your portraits: sizing the skull, adjusting the head's tilt and lean, positioning the jaw, and understanding basic perspective. Michael Hampton starts with a basic sphere, then customizes it by noting the head's lean and tilt. Then he’ll show how he adds the jaw, considering its proportions, and then sketch the neck with C and S curves. Remember to use a center line to align features, and to exaggerate gestures for emotive expression.
