I remember one night in the 90s laying down on an 80s brown and cream colored cloth couch watching 'Campfire' on KQED (the Bay Area's public television station out of San Francisco). As I laid there watching Bob standing in a horizontal position on the tube, albeit bleary-eyed, I decided to sleep right there vs going to my room. I fought to stay awake to keep watching him work his calming ASMR-tistic magic on this old hand-me-down 70s "console TV" - you know the big wooden boxy ones that sat on the floor that you had to sometimes bang on the top to make it work? That was my first ASMR-type experience, and now I realize that this most awesome dude to have ever lived might just be the godfather of it all.
