Let's Active - "Whispered News" - 688, Atlanta, Ga. Dec. 1984

Flaming hair. Another 30 year anniversary - Let's Active previewing "Whispered News" on the Cypress Tour at 688 in Atlanta, Ga. This was their first tour without Sara Romweber and along with Mitch Easter and Faye Hunter included Tim Lee and Jay Peck (who is situated stage left - to Faye's left - in the dark). From the best of my calculations, the date was around 12/15/84. My mindset at the time was medium to wide shots to give a band context for stage presence (Guadalcanal Diary would review their shows for video's objectivity, good isn't as spectacular as you thought and bad isn't as tragic). The board feed was heavy on bass, low on vocals/guitar, and virtually no drums (compressed and flat). Faye's bass tone is rich and clean and didn't need much tweaking. She's an amazing musician - metronome-tight rhythm with nimble delivery, holding her own with the English-style bassists (notably Jack Bruce on this song).
