Along the magnificent coastline of Bath in Victoria, Australia, lies the George Bass Coastal Walk, a hiking trail steeped in exploration history and breathtaking scenery. It's not only a paradise for hiking enthusiasts but also a journey through over two centuries, a dialogue with the grandeur of nature.
This trail is named after the British explorer George Bath. In 1797, in an attempt to prove the existence of a strait between Tasmania and the Australian mainland, he sailed a small whaling ship along the southern edge of the Anderson Peninsula, where the trail is now located. The trail roughly traces his original route, allowing people to "retrace" this journey of discovery.
