Well firstly, apologies for making a classic Youtube face thumbnail ;)

Secondly, this idea about the importance of greys is something I had heard but hadn't fully appreciated until making this video. I was amazed to see how many colours out in nature and in master paintings were very desaturated and grey, even though they felt like vibrant and colourful scenes or figures. To make colours sing, you need a lot of grey, which is often considered a dull and boring colour.

The experiments with paper and light filters I did in this were so eye opening and fun to do, and showed me the importance of grey in understanding how surface colour and light colour interact.
