Visiting The Threads Through... Exhibition

I'm out and about Visiting the Threads Through... Exhibition at Southwell Minster.

I went a couple of weeks ago, with no intention of filming, but as soon as I walked in, I knew you would want to see it. It was just amazing and too good not to share.

This is a triple exhibition of 'sacred' textile art. There are three 'series' in this exhibition: Threads Through Creation, Threads Through The Cross, and Threads Through Revelation. When displayed together, the exhibition is called Threads Through The Bible. It's by textile artist Jaqui Parkinson and took more than ten years to complete.

You don't have to believe any of the stories depicted in the panels. I am just sharing them as astonishing textile art. Think of it in the same way as going to see the Sistine Chapel, or a Cathedral, or the Renaissance Rooms at the National Gallery.

The video in no way does justice to this amazing exhibition. I can't recommend it highly enough if it is in a location near you. The scale of the panels alone is a sight to behold - around 10 feet tall. Look out for the heads of fully grown adults passing at the bottom of the frame for a sense of proportion.

The exhibition is touring the UK until the end of 2027. Dates for 2025 and 2026 are as follows:
