Zechariah’s prophesies were originally presented to the remnant of Israel toward the end of the Babylonian captivity. Because of the oppression they had suffered and the difficulties of their life ahead, the people had lost hope and had drifted from God. The message Zechariah brought to the people then and today is one of hope because the Messiah will return to be their Shepherd, Priest, and King. This book is rich in illustrations about the Christ who will return to lead His people to salvation, and is one of the most important Old Testament Books of the Bible that looks forward to the Shepherd who lays down His life for His sheep.
