Описание:
After the mishap maiden flight of the improved Ariane 5ECA V157 in 2002,
this 164th mission was the first successful launch of this much more powerful version of the launcher. It mainly contained a new cryogenic upper stage (ESC/A) instead of the former EPS and an enlarged Vulcain engine for the main stage (EPC).
The mission brought XTAR-EUR, SLOSHSAT-FLEVO and MAQSAT B2 into orbit.
