It's SO easy to load up the middle voice with as much weight as you can - making it much harder to lift all that weight up into higher notes!
Try bringing a heady, light approach down from the top with today's exercise.
We’ll do this in three stages:
1. Make the mouth very round and on a pitched sigh, sing, “loo-loo-loo-loo-looo” like the coo of a dove.
2. Land on a pitch, cooing from above, and sustain that pitch without adding vocal weight by squeezing in the neck. It may feel very weak and flimsy.
3. Coo from above, land, and then engage the belly button and sing a little three note scale.
