Finally, the time has come, Winter is over and it's warm enough to start Power Stretching. This stretching is used to force your muscles to get flexible.
I don't know if this technique actually works, results to follow in the next few months. I've personally never used this style of extreme stretching and for good reason. It's scary and could potentially cause damage.
I've seen videos where people take this type of stretching to the extreme, where they have 2 or even 3 people pushing on one person. Our sifu did not do that to us, he used a good amount of force without being too extreme.
We did a lot of warming up prior to power stretching. We spent about 40 minutes doing different runs and partner carries before going inside to start warming up our splits.
Lots of time was spent warming up our legs before our Sifu stretched us. This kind of partner stretching can be used as a middle splits stretch or front splits.
Traditional Chinese martial arts uses a lot of ballistic stretching and bounce stretching to help improve their kung fu flexibility. This is also a type of wushu stretching that helps to build flexibility in Shaolin warriors.
