UNDERSTANDING THE BLESSEDNESS OF THE BIRTH OF CHRIST

Two Vantages of the Birth of Christ:
1. Historic 2. Eternal

Galatians 4:4-5 - but when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Matt 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Christmas is God stepping out of eternity into time to redeem man from the damnation that is time. Romans 3:23,24 - All have a sinned and come short of the glory of God. being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Adam lost his covering in the garden, Christ is born that man might be recovered.

Christmas is the celebration of the coming of the recovery of man.

Christmas is not a celebration of a season but a celebration of man’s transition from darkness into light, from unseen to discovery, from lost to recovery.
Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.

Christ is God’s perfect gift to the world that opens a new chapter to all and for all
James 1:17 - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

WHY DID JESUS CHRIST COME

Ø TO BRING SALVATION TO ALL
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son.
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men

Ø TO BRING HOPE TO ALL
Colossians 1:27 Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Ø TO BRING JOY TO ALL
Luke 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Ø TO BRING PEACE TO ALL
Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Ephesians 2:14 For he is our peace,
Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Ø TO RESTORE DIVINE PRESENCE TO MAN
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Matt 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
⁶ - Be not afraid or dismay for I will be with you wheresoever thou goeth

Ø TO GIVE US LIFE AT ITS BEST
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

ENJOYING THE BLESSINGS OF THE COMING OF CHRIST REQUIRES THAT WE:
• RECEIVE HIM AS LORD AND SAVIOUR
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
No gift can reach it’s fullness of purpose without a recipient, in other words the gift of God
• BELIEVE IN THE PROVISIONS OF REDEMPTION
Rev 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
• ENGAGE OBEDIENCE OF FAITH TO HIS WORD
John 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
