The Angel of the Apocalypse (Symphonic Impression for Wind Orchestra) Hugo Chinesta

Obra escrita en conmemoración del 600 aniversario de la muerte del ilustre valenciano San Vicente Ferrer. Y dedicada a la Junta Central Vicentina de Valencia. (España)
Galardonada con la Silver Medal en los Global Music Awards de EEUU en 2021.
Estructurada en un solo movimiento y dividida en cinco secciones donde se narra la vida y obra de este personaje.

La obra esta basada musicalmente con motivos del sobre el himno oficial a San Vicente Ferrer del compositor Miguel Asins Arbó, escrito en 1954, premio compositivo por motivo del V centenario de la canonización.
I.- Valencia, 1350
Describe la ciudad en 1350, año en el que nace San Vicente Ferrer el 23 de enero de dicho año. Tomando como “leivmotiv” las primeras células del himno de 1954, abre en gran explosión de jubilo y alegría la Valencia en 1350, desembocando en un “Salterello”,danza de gran popularidad en la edad media, que utiliza una variación del tema anteriormente empleado basado en el himno de 1954.
II.- Nacimiento y Bautizo
San Vicente Ferrer nació en Valencia, el 23 de enero de 1350. Sus padres fueron Guillermo Ferrer, notario, y Constança Miquel. Fue bautizado en la Parroquia de san Esteban.
III.- Predicador itinerante
Describe su faceta como predicador, con un modelo de predicador siendo uno de los pioneros en esta disciplina.
IV.-Muerte
Describe la muerte en Vannes en 1419, tras un intento fallido por volver a Valencia a pasar sus últimos días, debido a una terrible tempestad al salir del puerto de Vannes lo que él interpretó como una señal de Dios para que volviera a Vannes a pasar el resto de sus días. Su sepulcro se halla en la catedral de dicha ciudad.
V.-Ascensión y Gloria de San Vicente Ferrer
Coral y gran final que concluye la obra con la descripción de la ascensión y gloria recibida en 1455 por su canonización.
Esta obra tuvo el privilegio de ser estrenada en dos ocasiones a lo largo del año 2019. En primer lugar, el 16 de julio en la plaza de la Virgen de Valencia. La segunda ocasión fue el día 28 de diciembre en la Basílica de Sant Vicent Ferrer dentro del concierto de clausura de la conmemoración del 600 aniversario de la muerte del santo.
Ambos estrenos fueron interpretados L’ Agrupació Musical de Beneixida, bajo la dirección de su titular Azael Tormo Muñoz.

I.- Valencia, 1350
He describes the city in 1350, the year in which San Vicente Ferrer was born on January 23 of that year. V.-Ascension and Glory of San Vicente Ferrer
Choral and grand finale that concludes the work with the description of the ascension and glory received in 1455 by his canonization.

This work had the privilege of being premiered twice throughout 2019. First, on July 16 in the Plaza de la Virgen in Valencia. The second occasion was on December 28 at the Basilica of Sant Vicent Ferrer within the closing concert of the commemoration of the 600th anniversary of the saint's death.
Both premieres were performed by L ’Agrupació Musical de Beneixida, under the direction of its owner Azael Tormo Muñoz.
