1. Amla (Acid)
Acids are sour in taste.
They change blue litmus into red.
They release H⁺ ions in water.
Example: Lemon juice (citric acid), Hydrochloric acid.
2. Chhar (Base/Alkali)
Bases are bitter in taste and soapy to touch.
They change red litmus into blue.
They release OH⁻ ions in water.
Example: Sodium hydroxide, Lime water.
3. Lavan (Salt)
Salts are formed when an acid reacts with a base (neutralization).
Most salts are crystalline and soluble in water.
Example: Common salt (NaCl), Washing soda, Baking soda.
Amla (Acid) are sour substances that produce H⁺ ions and turn blue litmus red.
Chhar (Base) are bitter and soapy substances that produce OH⁻ ions and turn red litmus blue.
Lavan (Salt) are products of acid-base reaction (neutralization) and are generally neutral in nature.
