In a time of significant system change, behavioral health providers are challenged to find ways to treat increasingly complex alcohol and drug use disorders with a greater emphasis on outcomes and cost-effectiveness. One response to this challenge has been the development of intensive outpatient treatment (IOT), an intermediate level of care intended for individuals not requiring 24-hour care and supervision but in need of more structured and comprehensive services than provided in traditional outpatient settings. Forty-four percent of all addiction treatment programs provide IOPs, and the level of effectiveness for Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) is rated high (McCarty, et.al. 2014). This session will describe the IOT-level of care and its role within.
Foundations Recovery Network’s mission is to be the leader in evidence-based, integrated treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders through clinical services, education and research.
