Borgeets are a collection of lyrical songs that are set to particular ragas but not necessarily to any tala rather it can be sung by using more than one tala. These are devotional songs composed by Srimanta Sankardeva and Sri Sri Madhabdeva in the 15th -16th centuries. They wrote borgeets in a mixed ancient assamese language; a mixture of Maithili, Brajaboli and many other regional dialects.
This borgeet is composed by Madhabdeva. It is sung in four talas- Paritala, Dharamjyoti, Sudhaganja (sutganja) and Domani respectively. It is just an attempt to sing the every necessary part of a Borgeet in a traditional manner.
This borgeet is all about the precious and mesmerizing avatar of Lord Krishna and how he has struck the Gopis’ essence in the disguise of a cowboy by playing melodious tune in his golden winsome flute.
This is not a literal translation, it is just a trans-creation to make it understand universally/globally.
