I’m Diane Louise van der Zanden and in 2015, we started building my studio while I worked on plastilina and paper mache figurative sculpture in the house. At that time, I was still exploring this new method of putting paper mache into molds to make lightweight, hollow, inexpensive sculpture and to elevate paper mache to a high end art. I made the plaster mold on the patio of the house. We moved here to Colima, Mexico in 2010 knowing that we wanted our studios here. This is a fabulous place to make art and I didn’t know how much I’d enjoy making YouTube videos for you, so I hope you like it!
