EP017 Devils Trumpet
Botanical Latin Names: Datura metel 'Black Current Swirl'
Sometimes called Jimsonweed, Devil's Trumpet gets it's biblical styled name for the fact that it can be used as a hallucinogen and that it's trumpet shaped flowers point up towards the heavens when in bloom. This name is in contrast to it's relative Angel's Trumpet (Brugmansia) whose trumpet shaped flowers point downward.
LITFM Garden shorts are intended as a series of five minute or less videos highlighting a specific plant/family in the Botanical Testing Gardens. The Gardens are located in North Carolina (Zone 8a). Hopefully this video gives you some good garden ideas and if you have questions or comments let me know.
