Crimson Needle 2.5 - Wolfie's Omegayoucannotdietoomuchpalooza

The challenge: Beat the stage with less than 25 deaths

Here we get our first example of my biggest issue with new game+: the low death challenges and speedrun challenges. There are ways to not put in too much effort and still make a challenge fun. The low save challenges/deathless challenges are good examples of that. Low death challenges and speedrun challenges are both low effort and unfun. The concept just doesn't really work in fangames because you never really get that kind of consistency, and in the end it's going to feel pretty much random how an attempt is going to go. Just like Pluto said, an attempt is never good until it clears. There is always a high chance of getting completely destroyed by a save. On top of being a hard challenge, this was also very hard mentally for me. It's really hard to not get super frustrated in a challenge like this. I also got a bit unlucky because I got a run with 10 lives in the final save but I still failed. It really is a shame that such an amazing stage gets such a bad guest stage challenge. At least I got this out of the way. Despite there being quite a lot more low death/speedrun challenges, pretty much all of them (except nader challenge) look better than this for various reasons. It's a bit early to say, but I do feel like this is one of my least favorite guest stage challenges.
