Why is Carriage & insurance Paid to (CIP) Necessary? | PWIP

CIP (Carriage & insurance Paid to) is an incoterm similar to CPT (Carraige paid to) that is used in import-export business of any goods through any mode of transport. In addition to the responsibilities in CPT, the seller is also responsible for insurance in case of CIP. If CIP is used in sea transport, then it is mainly used for containerised cargoes.
