These are being fired at cone 5 with a 15 minute hold. They’ll be out of the kiln tomorrow. I’ll post a photo of them in the community section of my YouTube channel
After firing to cone 04 with Mayco Stroke & Coat (applied in the greenware stage), these mugs were ready for their second and last glazing.
First, I waxed the bottoms. Then, I applied underglaze to the area around the glazed diamonds and wiped back leaving the underglaze in the crevices. Lastly, I used Amaco satin matte glazes in black and white to finish off the mugs.
