Build an O Gauge Tunnel (Part One)

The Ozark Midland & Southern Railway is a relatively small O Gauge 3-Rail railroad. Real estate on the layout is pretty hard to come by so as I begin work on the scenery elements I want to make the most of it. I believe just about everybody enjoys seeing trains pass through a tunnel. The OM&S is going to have two and so despite there being pretty short I wanted to make them special. I remembered watching a tutorial on YouTube produced by a fella by the name of Eric Siegel of Eric's Trains who used an interesting method to create his tunnels. So, I went back and rediscovered Eric's tutorials and was inspired. This video is part one of my effort to create a tunnel using the methods described by Eric. If all goes well I may build a second tunnel using the same method.

Please understand that I know there are a number of ways to create a tunnel and that the approach I am using here is more involved then some other methods. The method I have chosen here is something I wanted to do for fun and to create something not often seen on a lot of other model railroads.

Lastly, do take common-sense precautions and follow any manufacturer's warnings when working with any of the chemicals utilized with this project. If you are not familiar with hot glue guns, be very careful with their use. Hot glue guns and the melted glue get very, very hot.
