Last Spanish garrison is in Baler! More than a surfer's paradise [Aurora-Cagayan Valley Loop Ep. 1]

We're at it again... my friends (George and BY) and I decided to do a 4-day motorbike loop around the Aurora and Cagayan Valley region, where we'll ride through 6 provinces in the northeastern part of the Philippines, cross the Sierra mountain range twice and pass the Cordillera mountain range (two of the more famous mountain ranges in the Philippines), as well as the Caraballo mountain range. I'm Joel Syquia, and our objective for this ride is to explore three historical churches in the provinces of Aurora and Isabela that seem to be off the beaten track of tourists who visit this part of the Philippines... but which hold significant places in the country's rich history.

In this 1st Episode, we'll cross the province of Nueva Ecija to reach the surfer's paradise of Baler in Aurora Province. We'll visit Baler church (San Luis Obispo de Tolosa Parish Church), which was the last Spanish Garrison in the Philippines, and I'll tell you all about the interesting story behind the Siege of Baler. We'll also discover some places to stop and eat along the way.
