In 1903, archaeologists found a gospel fragment in an Egyptian garbage dump. It contains a famous Jesus teaching: "Pray for your enemies."

But this same teaching appears in 6 different ancient texts—all with different wording.

Paul's letters. The Didache. Matthew. Luke. Mark. This lost gospel.

Which version did Jesus actually say? Can we even know?

In this video, I walk through P.Oxy 1224—a 3rd/4th century gospel fragment—and compare it to 5 other early Christian texts to show how Jesus' teachings evolved as they were passed down.
