Making a set of V-blocks that are used to hold a large boring bar on a lathe. The blocks were designed to clamp to the dovetail on the compound rest allowing the distance between the blocks to be adjusted. The blocks open to the side and this allows boring bars from 1.5" dia. to 5" dia. to be held with the centre of the bar on the lathe centreline. Because of this no height adjustment is necessary.
The last scene shows the V-blocks in use on a Broadbent Schofield BSC lathe. They are holding a 4" dia. bar with 20" of overhang boring a 12" dia. hole.
