The remains of the last Israeli hostage held in Gaza has been found after a major search operation inside the IDF’s yellow line in the strip.
24-year-old police officer Ran Gvili was killed in a deadly rampage by Hamas militants on October 7th, before his body was transported and hidden in the enclave.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has hailed the discovery as an ‘extraordinary achievement’, while Hamas claims it assisted Israeli authorities in the search effort.
The retrieval has put more pressure on the Israeli government to return the remains of deceased Palestinians and open the Rafah border crossing to allow aid into the war-ravaged strip.
