Dr. Shahani served as the Principal of H.R. College of Commerce and Economics from 2000 to 2016, where she played a key role in shaping the institution’s academic excellence.

Beyond academia, Dr. Shahani served as the Sheriff of Mumbai in 2008 and 2009, enhancing her profile as a civic leader. She was also a member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) from 2011 to 2014, contributing to shaping higher education policies. Dr. Shahani continues to inspire through her visionary leadership, advocating for experiential learning and industry-academia collaboration.
