Erotic Canal Beach, also known as Canal d'Amour or Canal of Love, is an icon of romance in Corfu, located in the picturesque village of Sidari in the northwest of the island, just 35 km from the capital, Corfu. This unique spot is shaped by nature: soft sandstone cliffs, eroded over centuries, have created a network of narrow "channels" and cozy lagoons where the water sparkles with a turquoise sheen. The sandy and pebble shore is ideal for a relaxing holiday – the gentle slope into the sea allows for peaceful swimming, and the shallow waters make it safe for children (although the rocky ledges require vigilance). A secluded atmosphere reigns here: even in peak season, you can find a secluded corner among the rocks to enjoy the sound of the waves and the scent of the pine trees. The legend of the Canal of Love adds to the charm of this place: it is said that lovers who swim through the natural tunnel together will find an eternal connection, while singles can meet their destiny at the exit. Since then, tourists have been throwing coins with wishes, applying healing red clay from the rocks to their skin for "rejuvenation," and even holding impromptu ceremonies. Since the 1960s, the beach has become a magnet for couples, attracting Hollywood stars and romantics from around the world—it has even been featured in films about Greece.
During rough seas, the canal transforms into a luxurious wave pool. Sunbathing is possible on the tresses. Umbrellas are not allowed as the ground is very hard.
