From mind to metal, automotive artist Randy Grubb turns his retro-futuristic fantasies into hard-polished reality in his Pacific Northwest garage. Rated as one of the top fabricators in America by Hot Rod magazine, Randy is the creator of Jay Leno's Tank Car, the Indy Special, the B-702, and Piss'd Off Pete, the DecoLiner, the DecoPods, the Decoson, Bob Maddox's Pulse Jet Lakester, and Tim Cotterill's Rocket 3.
Now you can see how this visionary artist designs and creates his ground-shaking rolling art. In the Falconer Part 1 see how he designed and built a fully-sculpted frame and is developing the shape of the body with both state-of-the-art and old school methods.
The Falconer Dodici is Inspired by the French curve 1937 Delahaye Type 145 and the design precedent of the riveted seams of the 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic.
The sweeping lines of the car will be augmented with visible lapped panels of polished aluminum joined at the seams by flowing lines of rivets.
The roadster is being built around the Falconer V-12 racing engine produced and endorsed by Ryan Falconer. The subtitle “Dodici” is Italian for the number 12.
With monstrous power (645 hp) and a raw, muscled surface beauty not unlike the WWII P-51 Mustang fighter, the Falconer is sure to make a splash in the automotive world.
