Commuting to Work in a Modern Classic – Driving my Ford Sierra 1.6 GL

The second in our series where I do my 50+ mile commute to work in one of our modern classics and, this week, I am in a car that was once a very common sight on the roads of the UK, a car that is now approaching 40 years old… our Ford Sierra 1.6 GL.

Consistent with the first video, where I drove my Rover 800 Vitesse to work, I’ll share some facts about the car, but more importantly how it fares as a modern commuter alternative in 2021. Practicality, reliability, technology and performance are just some of the things I’ll be discussing, as well as what the modern classic says about you to your colleagues and whether a modern classic really is a sensible daily driver.
