Service RSC Now Warning On Ford (Causes And Solutions). In this video tutorial I will show you how to turn off service RSC now warning on Ford.
Service RSC Now is a prompt that notifies you when the system preventing your car from rolling, skidding, or sliding fails. RCS, or Roll Stability Control, is the system that does these functions and keeps your car stable when you take a sharp turn or are on a slippery road.
The RSC Service message is your car telling you a problem needs to be checked.
Here is what causes it and how to solve the issue;
The first step is figuring out what triggered the message and fixing it. It could be:
Faulty wheel speed sensors
The sensors monitor traction elements like speed and wheel pressure. A damaged sensor relays inaccurate information that may trigger the warning light. Inspect your wheel speed sensor and replace it with a new one if it is damaged.
Inspect the ABS sensor
A faulty Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) sensor could cause wheel lock-up and inaccurate wheel speed readings, triggering the service warning. Ensure the ABS light is off and the sensor is functioning correctly.
Check the control module
The control module is like the heart of all other systems in your car, including the Roll Stability Control. If it fails, the RCS will not work, which could explain the warning light.
Check the wheel bearings
Worn wheel bearings can affect the ABS sensor readings, which could suggest false wheel speed and trigger the RSC warning. Conduct a diagnostic on the wheels to determine the faulty bearing and replace it.
Here’s how to reset the message;
Sometimes, the service message is caused by a glitch and not a fault in the vehicle. If this is the case, your best option is to reset. You can reset the warning by:
Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery
Locate the vehicle's battery, loosen the nuts, and disconnect it from the terminals for fifteen minutes. This will reset the computer and, in turn, clear the RSC error.
Resetting the RSC fuse
Depending on your car’s model, check for the fuse box, remove the RSC fuse for ten to thirty seconds, and then return it. While this may reset the service light, it may not resolve the underlying issue if a component failure is present. Check your car’s manual for the location of the fuse box.
Using a diagnostic tool
Connect a diagnostic tool to the port below the dashboard. Access the RCS system menu and select the option to clear the service code. You can also take your car to a mechanic who can conduct an advanced diagnosis to determine where the problem is and fix it.
