From the Daily Feast-Making Routines of the Villagers in Lilliput

Early in the morning, the little dwarves slung baskets over their shoulders and headed to the market for shopping. Fresh fish, plump oysters, tender peaches, eggplants, pork, and frozen dumplings all went into their baskets one after another.
Back home, they got busy cleaning the ingredients: pried open the oysters to scoop out the meat, cut the eggplants into rolling knife chunks, minced the pork into fine bits, and washed the peaches before chopping them into pieces. Then they mixed up a bowl of sauce, combining light soy sauce with peach juice — a perfect blend of sweet, sour, fresh and savory.
They lit a fire under the earthen stove. First, they pan-fried the fish until it set into shape. Next, they sautéed scallions, ginger and garlic until fragrant, tossed in the minced pork and eggplants to stir-fry, then drizzled the sauce over and simmered until the sauce thickened. Meanwhile, they blanched the oysters and boiled the dumplings until they floated to the surface.
The dishes were served on rustic clay plates, and the dumplings were scooped into bamboo sieves. The little dwarves gathered around the wooden table, surrounded by delicious aromas, and enjoyed the meal to their hearts’ content.
