Let's Build an Epic Fantasy World Map in Wonderdraft | Fantasy Map Making (Part 1)

In part 1 of the fantasy map-making series we begin using Wonderdraft to fill in the north-western section of the map, creating the Scandinavian-inspired land of Fjelhjem.

Have you ever wanted to create an entire world that only existed in your head?

In this 10 part series we use Wonderdraft to craft a custom fantasy world map for Dungeons & Dragons. This world is part of an entirely original campaign setting of my own creation named the Legacy of the Veil. In this worldbuilding exercise I take a map project from concept to completion, ending up with a full world map that could be used in any TTRPG. You can enjoy dozens of hours of intricate map-building work at a fraction of the time in these time-lapse videos.

In Part 1 we explore the northern nation of Fjelhjem, a mountainous Scandinavian-inspired region with a history of Viking raiding and seafaring, along with the uninhabited frozen wastelands of Avfalfjord. I explain basics of mountain and river placement and my overall design philosophy and process for map-making.
