Tim Ware is the Executive Director of Memphis Grizzlies Prep Charter School, an all-boys school in downtown Memphis, Tennessee serving students in grades 6-8. During the 21.22 school year, Grizzlies Prep earned a Level 5 rating from the state for student growth, which is the highest rating a school can receive.

Tim’s career experience is extensive. He spent his first seven years delivering youth programs and wraparound services to members of his own neighborhood in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tim's career in public education started when he moved to Memphis, Tennessee to become a Social Studies teacher, pushing students at Frayser High School to learn and grow. Tim then founded and led Veritas College Prep, a middle school serving students who were 98% African-American and 91% of whom qualified for free and reduced-price lunch, the government's measure of child poverty. The school was located in the 38126 ZIP code, the poorest ZIP code in any major city in the US at the time. Still, Veritas Prep was one of the highest performing schools in the state each year and was recognized by the Tennessee Department of Education as a Reward School, a designation reserved for the top 5% of schools in the state for student growth.

Later, as Executive Director of New Leaders, he gave educational professionals the tools to become highly effective school leaders themselves. Not backing down from a challenge, Tim became Executive Director of the Achievement School District, working to turn around the lowest-performing schools in the state of Tennessee. He’s done the hard work of aligning mission-driven teams, developing talent, and allocating precious resources to achieve incredible results.
